I must admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for these old French heirloom varieties, and 'Avalanche' is a perfect choice for adding a bit of romantic profusion to the garden. The buds have a pink cast and open to reveal large, white blooms that last well in a vase. Fragrant. Mid season. 80cm.
