‘Globe of Light’

Very large, fragrant blooms consist of silvery pink guard petals that unfurl to reveal an enormous pure gold centre, all displayed beautifully against attractive foliage. Flowering mid season, this charming heritage peony is of medium height and shows excellent vigour. 

Though often referred to as being synonymous with ‘Bowl of Beauty’, I suspect this to be an error persisting among mass producers, ‘Bowl of Beauty’ being a later Dutch introduction. I think the plant I have is the actual 1927 UK variety, with persistent gold centres and silky pink guard petals.
