‘First Lady’

Another cracking Klehm peony, ‘First Lady’ really should be more popular and a lot more well known. I love the flower form as it opens, it reminds me of taffeta petticoats, and hourglass figures. Of course the colour is stunning too and it works really well in the garden and in the vase. There isn’t a fragrance but she more than makes up for it with the sheer number and size of the flowers, and the lovely strong stems that hold up well in all weathers, despite the enormous blooms. Early to mid season. 75cm.
