Collection: Intersectional or Itoh Peonies

A more recent addition to the world of peonies, Itohs or intersectionals are a cross between an herbaceous peony and a tree peony.

In my experience they are quicker to re-establish after transplant, they cope with milder conditions and part shade, grow better in containers, and are more tolerant of wet conditions over flowering.

If you think your garden might not be quite cold enough for herbaceous peonies, then intersectionals are a good place to experiment.
